MEET THE ARTIST
Here is Dylan, working in his studio.
Dylan Lewis is a sculptor from South Africa. He loves animals.
Dylan Lewis uses his art to raise awareness of the need to protect the environment and animals. He was first inspired by leopards that used to roam wild across the African continent but are now very rare.
Dylan Lewis makes the sculptures first in clay and then he casts it in bronze. Bronze is a mixture of metals, usually of tin and copper. This is a very old technique. In Nigeria sculptors have been casting in bronze for over 1,000 years.
This bronze Leopard is from Benin.
